Loving Life!
Things are really great right now! You know that scary place where it is so good you are not sure if you deserve it.....or if it can last. That is right where I am now. But loving it! The job is great! The music is great! The friends are great! I sound like a total ray of sunshine.....a little over the top, I know. But, I am down right greatful for where life is leading me right now.
I hope each of you are enjoying every moment as well! Know I think of you all often, Rob Wal-Mart can kiss my lily-white ass!
Wal-Mart Sucks!
Just saying! I don’t rant often, but…..The Wal-Mart super store near my house in Nashville, TN SUCKS SO bad! The other day, I was trying to buy some shaving supplies. When I got to the display it was boxed in with plexi-glass and locked up…..I figured, OK, I get it…..lots of shoplifters. I will just grab a associate to help me. 20 minutes of searching finally turned up a store helper who could barely speak English. When I got back to the razors, there was a line of guys like me waiting to get help. Through a series of sign language and poorly used English, we find out that we each need to wait in line in the shopping isle while the associate brings us one by one to the register to check out! Now, I don’t know about you, but treating me like a criminal will flip me right out! I took my cart full of stuff directly to the customer service center and asked for a manager. 15 more minutes pass as I got more and more mad waiting for someone to unload on….:) Long story short there is a Wal-Mart manager in Tennessee with a very chewed up ass! Here is the thing folks..for a company that is deeply responsible for so many of our jobs going overseas, they should be walking on egg shells to serve us! Look at their shelves. TRY AND FIND SOMETHING THERE THAT IS MADE IN AMERICA! You will be hard pressed. I am done with it Target is not any more expensive now days… In short, I won’t be going back…I know this sounds like a bunch of crying, but I am dead serious. I will NEVER BE BACK! I have had similar experiences at the same store over the last two years and I am DONE……I don’t care if I am the richest man on Earth, or broke as hell….Everyone should be treated well in a store. And if I am spending my money with you, you better take care of me! Well, that’s my story and I am sticking to it! Rob the rant-man is out! P.S. feel free to tell Wal-Mart stick it where the sun don’t shine by not spending $ there…they don’t care about us, why should we give them the money that is so hard to come by? Think about it… Yoda-lehee-hoooooo!
Climbing my mountains today!
Man….sometimes it just keeps coming at you, and if you blink, it will run your ass over! I have been working my way out from behind the Eight-Ball for 6 months now. It is funny how, when you need a victory so bad you can taste it. At those moments, it runs from you. No…..! It FLEES from you like a gazelle from a hungry lion. I think that is why people always use the word “chasing” when they talk about dreams. My family always says anything worth having is worth fighting for. Well, I am fighting alright! Tooth and nail! Where I feel really blessed is in those around me who always take the time to breathe some positivity into my day. Good people need to stick together! I am going to hang in there…you to! Talk soon everyone. Chicken Soup Day!Wow! I don’t get sick often but when I do it’s a doo-sy! Got the latest set of invaders staking a claim to my upper-respiratory system. I think that between the whole made chicken soup, and the extra sleep, I am gunna win the battle. But, till then….WOW! Good thing my momma loved me when I was little. She said, “Now Robby, we all know you are gunna be single, so I better teach you how to cook for yourself…” Not sure if she meant that no-one would have me, or she saw the wild look of an untamable wild man in her little boys eyes. Either way, so glad she taught me her secret chicken soup and dumpling recipe! Love you Momma! You are 5 feet of concrete, thanks for making me strong! OK…back to bed. My head is going thump-ity-thump-thump…Oh wait, that’s a good rhythm, perfect for the song I’ve been working on! I need to write it down! LOL…:) I'm A "Work-A-Holic"!Hey everyone! Been so busy lately….I feel bad that I have not been on line much to answer fan-mail and questions. Most of you know that I am still in that “Rock and a hard place” spot. You know what I mean…still working the day job, at the same time as rehearsing with the band, writing new material, and playing out. It gets to be a lot, but if you know me, you also know that I love it! Rob Everest is no quitter, and you can take that to the bank! Recently I took a new job working for a great company ( Wyndham Vacation Properties). I love it! It should give me the flexible time and the investment dollars I have been needing to go to the next level. In the near future you should see the completion of my first project and the start of the next. We have a new plan in place for the management and execution of the next project, so you won’t have to be half as patient to get it in your hands as last time… Everything else is good in “Rob Everest” land. I am still elusively single… And as they say….I am Free, white, and 21! Really looking forward to getting things rocking in this new direction. If all goes well, we should be booking shows for your neck of the woods for the first of the year! See you all soon…:) Just Sayin Hey!Been really busy with the new day job! Missing my people! I hope all of you are doing really well! Those of you who have been to the music portion of this sight to download the first half of the new project, have been giving me great feedback! Seems like everyone really likes Down Town, And Sweet Love! Those happen to be my 2 favorites as well! I am getting really serious about getting the second half done, but need to get settled into my new day job first. I will be back with updates as I have them and we will all be getting together at shows sometime soon. The “Trio” I have been rehearsing is just about ready to get turned loose on the world and if you like a big sound from just a few guys, you are gunna love this! I will be introducing you all to Jerrod Denise(Guitar) and Jeremy Mitchell (Hand Drums). We are going to be doing a wide variety of songs with a 50/50 split between originals and covers. Our rule is…..” If it don’t rock, we don’t play it!” Again, I am really looking forward to meeting up with you all! See you soon, and know that without you and your support nothing happens! I need you! I love you! I am grateful! Happy Birthday to Me!
Had such a great Birthday today! Started with all my crazy friends, fans, and Family burying me with Birthday greetings on Face Book. Then a great lunch appointment that may lead to some significant forward movement in my music! (Top Secret…sorry no details) Then, a great swim at the pool…I got in a good solid mile! Topped it off with some Chinese delivery and a quiet movie. Not exactly a barn burner, but it is a week night right….:)
I hope you all had a great day to! And Wow! Thanks for all the support…my phone rang all day, so much, that my ear hurts! Peace, Rob Everest Rob Everest Music...World Début'

Had a wild day today! All my people got together to help me increase my FB friend count. I found a videographer that will film my big show on July 16th in Atlanta. But, only if I have at least 2000 FB friends. So the posy rolled out! They blew up my page and Facebook shut me down! LOL! Well we did add over 300 people in one afternoon….:) Go big or go home right! Come ON Already!
Ok...so I tried to get the project out for April fool's Day...guess the joke is on me! Further updates to come as soon as I have know anything....
Album Update!I know that many of you have been getting antsy wondering when the fabled album is going to finally be released…Good news! After a few months of technical issues, short funds, and a slight case of the winter funk, we have made a bunch of great progress this last week. An album is a lot like a fetus…it’s gotta grow before it is ready for the world. We did a bunch of growing last week! All of the songs now have a basic band mix, and most of the extra Acoustic Instrumental parts are done… All that is left are some of the extra production touches to fill it out, a final vocal session or two to get it finished, and of course the final mix and master.... That, and hours of editing! But, we should have it to you soon. We are shooting for an April Fool’s Day release! NO JOKE! I will keep you updated between now and then, and thanks for believing! yours always, Rob Everest I got a fever!
I got a fever, and the only cure is more Cow-Bell!
I drove to work today with my windows down! Hair blowing in the breeze! Screaming one of my favorite songs at the top of my lungs…LOL! I am DONE with cabin fever…This Country boy is breaking it loose! I would love you to leave me your best Spring fever stories! Free Download to the best one! Get Crazy!
Green Bay Pckers....2011 Super Bowl Champs!
I don’t spend a bunch of time living off of other people’s victories, but go-baby-go! I am so excited that my Packers won! The “Title” has come home to “Title Town USA” once again! So, roll around in it! Smear it all over your face like camouflaged warrior paint! Jump in with both feet, and feel the shock of the cold water! Run through the streets naked, crazed, and screaming at the top of your lungs! And then… get on with chasing your own dream! Go Pack Go!
Hey Ya’ll!
Most of you know I originally come from Green Bay WI…with the Packers in the Super Bowl this coming weekend, you can bet your lily-white ass, I am amped up! I have all my Super Bowl party plans set. The chips and dip are in the fridge, and the beer is cold! It’s been 13 years since the Packer faithful have tasted victory, and now we are about to see “Title Town USA” become what it was meant to be one more time! We have made it through the…”Is Bret going to retire this year or not freak show”…and found that we are just fine without him. Congratulations to Mr. Rodgers for weathering that storm like a champ! The Vince Lombardi trophy is coming home! Last week I spent my game time with the Green Bay Packer Fan Club of Nashville, Tn. At the end of the game there was beer on the floor, the Wisconsin style chain smokers had the air thick as pea soup, and I got carried around the bar on the shoulders of two huge dudes that were way to excited that I was raised I the shadow of Lambeau Field! The funny thing about Nashville is that the folks here say they love football...(AKA the Titans)…but they really don’t get what REAL fans are about! At “LP Field” the fans sit through most of the game, they show up for the game sometime during the first quarter of play, and you hear a lot of people asking about what just happened because they don’t really understand the rules or the strategy of the game…at “Lambeau Field” if you sit down you are leaving the stadium drenched in beer, If you are not in the parking lot setting up the grill at 6am for a noon game you are late, and my Grandmother knew more about football than any 12 Titans fans put together! In the end it’s not really anyone’s fault, they just don’t have the history the Packers enjoy. When you think back to Bart Star, Paul Horning, and the boys…when you look at the guys who started it all. Then, you see why Green Bay fans are not just the craziest fans, but some of the best fans in the world! We bring a special tradition to the game. It’s a strange but amazing combination of beer swilling, bratwurst gorging, and dedication to the game…the kind that gets you through even the lean years, or the scandals. The Packer faithful always know that next year…the boys in Green & Gold will get it done! Cool thing is…next year is this year! Come kick off time, you will find me with the rest of the Green Bay, WI transplants here in Nashville. We will be over at the “Score Board” by the “Grand Old Opry” pounding some suds, eating till we have to loosen the belt a notch or two, and screaming ourselves horse, as the Packers drive the ball down the field for a 27 to 14 victory over the Steelers…that’s right! I called it! Packers over the Steelers 27 to 14….write it down! And know I will be using my considerable lung power to support the boys in Green & Gold from Nashville…GO PACK! Good Times
You ever notice how every time a friend needs to move they call the biggest 5 people they know…
Of course I always make that list! Ha! I don’t ever mind though…you get in some social time…your friend now owes you BIG TIME…and it’s free exercise! Where is the down side? Now just cause I am poking fun, does not mean you can all call me for moving help…you do want me to finish this album right?! Have some fun this week! Lend a hand…show someone you care. Rob Everest Can of Woop-Ass!
The new Album is almost done! Hope you are ready to get rocked by the variety of music coming your way. From a soft and soulful country waltz called “Falling Leaves” to high velocity party songs like, “Down Town” & “Country Boys Don’t Run”. I can’t wait to finally be able to share the last 2 years of work with you all.
For all of you who have been following me and the progress of this dream, you know it has been a hell of a ride! In the last 2 years, I have had a scuffle with a shotgun wielding landlord, lived in a leaky Winnebago, had an employer steal 35K from me, and havemet some amazing people, and had a ton of fun along the way! No tears here…I got some great song material out of it! The truth is there have been set backs... in life there always will be…But you have stuck by me, and I am grateful! Get ready….because I am about to unleash the storm! You are gonna love this! Dream a Little Dream
Howdy! To all my peoples!
Recently I posted a little fun survey on my FB regarding dreams… In that chat, I learned a lot about human nature. It seems like we get to a point in life and then our dreams slow down or just die all together. Ben Franklin once said, “The average man dies at 25 and waits till 70 to be buried.” Thought it would be really cool if everyone would take a minute and post their dream on this blog… Call me a dreamer and I will say, ”Thanks for the compliment!” I live to dream…my report card always said…Robbie could be such a great student if he could only get his head out of the clouds…! I would hate to see a kid who is not a dreamer! But it is just as sad to me when I meet an old friend, or a new one for that matter, and they can’t tell me what their dream is. Take a minute and get crazy! I don’t care how stupid it feels! Put down the dream you had when you were 8 years old, then decide if that was such a stupid dream, or did the world just edge it’s way in till there was no more room for “Play Time”? In the end I am asking for you to do me a favor…after all, a dreamer is fueled by the dreams of other as much as his own….So, don’t hold back…share it with the world here on my web sight…or at least with the few hundred people who have found it….:) This Crazy Town
This Crazy Town!~ (Rob Everest) ©12/22/2010
Like Jason Aldean says..."This CRAZY town!" Those of us fortunate enough to live here in Nashville know that we live in an extremely unique environment. The “Bread Basket” of all things "Country"....LOL! Nashville is a world of secret double lives and dreams that run deep as the tides. Of people and faces filled with hope and a drive to do great things that could rival ancient Rome in its days of unstoppable expansion! We live fast and slow all at the same time....running with destiny, but slowly almost reverently savoring the music. From the “Circle That’s Unbroken”...to the summer time folks who inhabit “Party-Cove”, we live lives full of ....well.....LIFE! You just can't find what we have here anywhere else on the planet. I get so many questions about what it is like here, from people all over the country, and I always tell them to imagine living in the eye of a hurricane...you are safe and all is calm right now, but just wait 30 min! It comes from living in a town where the Artist/Civilian ratio is so unbalanced. People argue the numbers, but we can conservatively say that we have something like 75,00-150,000 song writers in this town! In a population of about 500,00 in metro Nashville, about 1 in 5 say they are song writers! Then think of all the Publishers, Marketing Agents, Record Label folks, and recording studio employees, not to mention the Players! We live in a town where you can’t throw a snow ball in a crowd without hitting someone involved in the music industry. And that is why I say...."what a crazy town!" But…. it is the good kind of crazy, and in the end, I feel blessed and then some! We get the privilege of creating some of the best stories in all of the world right here in our living rooms, garages. attics, bars, clubs, and stages. The constitution of the United States of America starts out "We The People". those words were the small pebbles used to start and avalanche of creativity and growth that would come to dominate the planet Earth. I am proud to be a part of a city that still lives by that ideal. You can listen to all the talk about how savage the music industry can be to those who choose it as a career. I say that's crap! the truth is we are blesses to be given any chance at all, no matter how slim. The gift of pursuing your dream is so precious that no price can be counted too high. People live all over this Earth with no right to do what they chose...In some countries, artists DIE attempting to break free of the system holding them down! So here I am...just before the holidays thinking of what I am grateful for...Along with my family, friends, and fans....there is nothing I appreciate more than an entire city devoted to giving me a chance to shine! Thank you Nashville! And Merry Christmas to all! Rob Everest |
